On Saturday we marched together to show Michigan Medicine that we will not give up in demanding better working conditions to improve safety for our patients. Thousands of nurses and hundreds of community supporters filled the sidewalks outside the hospital to let the employer know nurses deserve a fair contract! The actions of our members shows the University that we will not be divided!
Following our picket, the bargaining team has been back to negotiations. We have seen management make some movement off of many concessions that had been proposed but still not enough to meet the priorities of our membership.
On Thursday, nurse leaders will travel to St. Ignace to tell the Regents of the University of Michigan to recognize the value of nurses at this institution.
Our bargaining team will hold Zoom bargaining update information meetings for all members on Tuesday, July 26 at 8:00am, 5:30pm and 8:00pm. There will be a special meeting for Advanced Practice RN updates at 7:00pm.
